If we look at the two most common attack vectors, i.e. files downloaded from the web or email attachments, we can see a common point there – the file. If files with malicious code get into your system, antivirus and edr/xdr systems have to fight them. Thus, they only deal with the malicious code after a successful or unsuccessful infiltration attempt (curative).
